ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Thomas Lobban

Thomas holds an LLB and LLM Tax Law degree and is a SARS registered tax practitioner in South Africa, with both practical tax and consulting experience. He has dealt with various legal conflicts of interest and moved from corporate practice to the consulting industry where he has entrenched himself within tax law, specializing in individual cross-border and crypto asset taxation.

Thomas joined Tax Consulting SA after obtaining his Masters degree, to focus on tax law and the intricacies thereof. He is a co-author of the LexisNexis Expatriate Tax textbook, and in particular its chapter on the interpretation and application of Double Taxation Agreements, which is of particular relevance to South Africans living and working abroad.

Leo Oudshoorn

As a tax expert with about 25 years’ experience, Leo advises the internationally oriented clients in many fields: tax treaties, overarching international social security- and labour law agreements as well as applying permits for non-EU nationals to stay and work legally in the Netherlands. Leo combines his diverse expertise in a perfect mix within the European Growth Referent one stop shop.

Charlotte Davies

Charlotte Davies

Charlotte is an US Enrolled Agent and member of the Association of Tax Technicians who has worked in UK and US tax for more than 10 years. She specialises in the US and UK taxation and reporting for trusts and their beneficiaries and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Charlotte has experience of providing advice on a wide range of private client tax issues. Her primary focus is assisting US people on issues surrounding trusts, but she also advises individuals who were unaware of their US tax filing obligations and those who wish to give up their US citizenship. Charlotte also provides US estate and UK Inheritance Tax planning for US citizens and non-resident aliens.

George Ganey

George Ganey

George Ganey is a partner at Ganey Law Group. He is a passionate advocate for his clients, and has significant experience advising individuals and businesses on all types of immigration matters, with a particular focus on investment-based immigration options for individual clients and their families. George designs creative and effective legal strategies for his clients and is deeply committed to helping each client achieve their goals.

George is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Federal Bar Association, and he is an EB-5 Verified Attorney by EB-5 Investors Magazine. When George is not working with clients, he enjoys reading, running, playing golf, and spending time with his wife and two young children.
