WHO NEEDS TO APPLY FOR
IMPORT/EXPORT LICENCE?
All entities (individuals or businesses) that are importing/exporting goods for commercial reasons or importing / exporting goods need to be registered with customs for an import export license. This is also called an importer’s / exporter’s customs code or customs registration.

WHAT IS THIS LICENCE
USED FOR?
Both to clear goods at customs and to make foreign payments through a bank. The license is valid for the lifetime of yourself or your business. It is advisable to apply for both the import and export license at the same time as merchandise traded may be faulty and needs to be returned or you may need a refund at the bank. As it is a lifetime license it is also nice to get all the admin done in one go.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO OBTAIN AN IMPORT/EXPORT LICENCE?
Licences are completed in 10 -14 days after documents received.
